Top 10 International Beach Destinations That Aren’t in Europe

If you feel priced out of Europe’s beach destinations, don’t worry. We have the top 10 international beach destinations that aren’t the Amalfi Coast or Santorini, but just as wonderful.

European coastal areas have become expensive for spontaneous getaways, with average holiday prices increasing by over 10% in 2025. European beach destinations are often pricier due to a combination of factors including high demand, limited space, and the perception of luxury associated with certain coastal areas—from the South of France to the Balearic Islands.

Many popular beaches in Europe are privately owned or require fees for access via upmarket beach clubs, contributing to the overall cost. Additionally, the seasonality of tourism in these areas leads to price increases during peak periods. Think of places like St. Tropez, when the billionaire yacht set decides to dock. And the Euro has a slight edge on the American dollar at the moment.

A new study by the influencer platform Heepsy analyzed beach destinations worldwide to identify where travelers can find the best value alternatives to Europe’s popular coastlines.

The research evaluated destinations based on beach infrastructure, accommodation availability, weather conditions, pricing, and safety standards. Each destination received a travel rating from 0-100, with higher scores indicating better overall value for beach travelers seeking alternatives to European destinations.
