Happy Pride Month! To help celebrate, Lonely Planet has listed its Top 10 LGBTQIA+ neighborhoods in the U.S.
June marks Pride Month, with millions of travelers flocking to some of the nation’s most historic LGBTQIA+ neighborhoods to celebrate the community’s culture, history and ongoing fight for equality.
To mark the occasion, Lonely Planet has released its ranking of the 10 best LGBTQIA+ neighborhoods in the U.S., highlighting the communities that have shaped queer culture, activism and travel for generations. The list features iconic destinations such as Philadelphia’s Gayborhood, San Francisco’s Castro, New York City’s West Village and West Hollywood, as well as vibrant LGBTQIA+ hubs in New Orleans, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, Dallas and Provincetown.

In addition, Lonely Planet has also published an LGBTQ+ Travel Guide that spotlights more than 50 LGBTQ+ destinations worldwide through firsthand stories, travel tips, and recommendations from local queer residents. Combining personal interviews, practical itineraries, maps, and photography, the guide aims to help LGBTQ+ travelers discover authentic, welcoming communities and experiences beyond traditional Pride celebrations.
