Thanksgiving Cocktails With a Tequila Twist

If you’re entertaining this Festive season, it’s a mandatory part of host duties to have a welcome drink on hand for guests. Think Tequila Travesuras in your Holiday cocktail.

We like Tequila Travesuras, with its name evoking travel and its elegant bottle conjuring the best of Mexico’s famed liquor. “Travesuras” loosely translates to ‘antic’ or ‘trick’, but there is nothing disingenuous about this premium beverage. Crafted with the finest 100% blue agave tequilana weber, this all-natural, low-calorie, 35% proof blanco tequila is infused with natural fruit flavors, making it a good choice for smooth sipping or imaginative mixing.

We chose this spirit as the base for some Thanksgiving welcome drinks. Our picks: Lemon, and Spicy Mango—each is smooth enough to sip neat, on the rocks, or with a mixer of your choice. They are both perfect for sliding into a Seltzer, Coke, Tomato Juice, and the like. But also, what a lovely gift idea! The bottles are very attractive in themselves and worthy of display in your home bar. After all, it’s a time when you may find the need to travel in a glass and be transported from your quotidien commitments!

Tequila Travesuras is a new brand, too. Simon Atri established the label in November 2023, driven by a deep respect for traditional tequila craftsmanship. Simon traveled to Jalisco, where the finest blue agave is cultivated, to create a tequila that marries age-old methods with contemporary, natural flavor infusions. And so, Tequila Travesuras was born. To try making the two below cocktails at home, start with a bottle of Tequila Travesuras Blanco as your base instead of the usual vodka or gin.

Rosemary Pomegranate Margarita

Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsweetened pomegranate juice
  • 1 cup fresh lime or lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • ½ cup Tequila Travesuras Blanco
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen pomegranate arils
  • Ice cubes
  • 4 fresh rosemary sprigs
  • ½ lemon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Method
  1. Pour pomegranate and lime juice, Blanco tequila, agave syrup, pomegranate arils, and rosemary sprigs into a shaker and shake it well.
  2. Rim a highball or margarita glass with sugar. To do this, rub the lemon half along the glass edge, running it around the rim to moisten it. Dip the rim in the sugar and let it dry.
  3. Fill the glass with 2 large or 5 small ice cubes.
  4. Pour the margarita into the glass.
  5. Serve.

This festive and tempting delight takes about 10 minutes to make. The perfect balance of tart, sweet, and colorful natural ingredients makes it a refreshing choice of Holiday cocktail, and who doesn’t enjoy a margarita as a way of escaping the daily grind?

And if you’d like something hydrating and warming to ward off the Winter bugs, try this immune-boosting cocktail!

  3. Add Tequila Travesuras Blanco and lime juice and shake well with ice to cool the blend.
