Hotel Katarina Opening on Croatia’s Famed Coast With Award-Winning Rosé

Opening early 2026, Hotel Katarina marks an exciting new chapter in the evolution of the Korta Katarina Collection, expanding its legacy of refined Adriatic hospitality.

With its idyllic setting on the Dalmatian Coast, this intimate 11-suite Relais & Châteaux seaside retreat captures the essence of Croatia’s coastal charm with contemporary elegance.

Just one mile from the flagship Relais & Châteaux Villa Korta Katarina & Winery, Hotel Katarina complements the Villa’s timeless sophistication with a vibrant, laidback luxury feel. Together, they reflect the vision of founders Lee and Penny Anderson, whose passion for Croatian culture, cuisine, and craftsmanship has transformed the little-known seafaring town of Orebić into one of the Adriatic’s most compelling destinations.

Each of Hotel Katarina’s 11 individually designed accommodations, each featuring a balcony or terrace, are a study in quiet elegance with custom furnishings, artisanal details crafted by local makers, and serene sea views that invite guests to slow down.

Commissioned murals by a local Croatian artist bring a vivid sense of place to the restaurant and reception. These hand-painted works depict scenes of old-town Orebić and the shipyard that once stood on the site of the hotel. The artwork is an homage to the region’s maritime heritage.

The Captain’s Terrace, an open-air restaurant, offers elevated farm-to-table and sea-to-table cuisine that honors Dalmatian tradition through a modern lens. Chef Kristijan Feskov’s menus are guided by the Slow Food philosophy, spotlighting sustainable ingredients from local farmers, fishermen, and artisans.

The adjacent American Bar exudes timeless coastal charm, with wood-paneled interiors and a terrace perfect for sunset cocktails. Here, guests can sip classic drinks reimagined with Adriatic botanicals or enjoy curated wines from Korta Katarina’s award-winning winery nearby.

The Neptune Spa, which includes a hammam, sauna and fitness room, offers a serene refuge inspired by the rhythms of the sea, where mineral-rich rituals, coastal botanicals, and the art of touch restore balance and vitality.

Beyond the spa, guests can immerse themselves in the Adriatic lifestyle through private day cruises aboard the 43′ Invincible Hybrid Cruiser, Catch & Cook sea-to-table experiences, and yoga by the sea. For those seeking deeper adventure, opt for private yacht charters aboard the Collection’s M/Y Katarina to reveal hidden coves and islands.

Framed by sun-drenched vineyards, crystalline waters, and just a short ferry ride from the island of Korčula, Orebić offers a rare blend of authenticity, seclusion, and elevated hospitality. This sense of effortless escape is now enhanced by the launch of a private helipad, located just five minutes from Villa Korta Katarina & Winery, offering seamless transfers from Dubrovnik, Split, or virtually any destination accessible by helicopter.

With this new helipad, expanding luxury portfolio, and timeless coastal charm, Orebić is no longer a hidden gem—it’s a destination in full bloom.

Korta Katarina Rosé 2024 Named the #1 Rosé in Festival of 100 Best Wines of Croatia

Villa Korta Katarina & Winery is proud to announce that its Rosé 2024 has been awarded first place in the Rosé category at the prestigious Festival of the 100 Best Wines of Croatia, reaffirming the winery’s dedication to excellence and the remarkable potential of Pelješac and Dalmatian varietals.

Korta Katarina’s award-winning Rosé 2024 was presented at the Festival on January 24, 2026, at the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel, alongside other celebrated wines from the winery’s portfolio.

This distinction is especially meaningful for the Korta Katarina team and the broader winemaking community of southern Croatia. The Festival is recognized as one of the country’s most respected wine evaluations, and earning the top position underscores the quality, craftsmanship, and terroir that define the winery’s work.

This year’s nominations were determined by 25 of Croatia’s leading sommeliers and wine authorities, who evaluated wines from across the nation. From several hundred submitted samples, a panel of 10 expert sommeliers conducted blind tastings to assess each wine without knowledge of the producer, region, or label. Only the top 100 wines advanced to the final list, making this recognition both rigorous and highly prestigious.

This achievement reflects the dedication of the winery’s team and the character of Pelješac terroir. It also honors the enduring vision of American philanthropists Lee & Penny Anderson, whose commitment to Korta Katarina and its family of varietals has shaped the winery’s identity from the beginning. Their belief in Pelješac, in Croatian winemaking, and in the region’s, potential continues to inspire and elevate everything the winery does.

Hotel Katarina opens in early 2026 with rates starting at €450 per night, including daily breakfast and access to Neptune Spa facilities.
