LGBTQ+ Journalists Win NATJA Travel Media Awards

Queer journalists receive honor as winners of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) Travel Media Awards competition.

The North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) announced the winners of the 30th Annual NATJA Travel Media Awards Competition. Awards were given to publications, travel journalists and photographers, and destination marketing organizations. Winning entries from major publications included Condé Nast Traveler, National Geographic Travel, Travel + Leisure, Matador Network, and Air Canada enRoute

“As NATJA celebrates 30 years of recognizing the best in travel journalism, we are proud of this year’s list of winners,” said Helen Hernandez, NATJA CEO. “In spite of Covid-19, 2021 submissions provided an opportunity for unique experiences that resulted in thoughtful, informative, and safe travel stories. We celebrate all your work and efforts and hope that you will join us in celebrating this year’s winners.”

And we’re happy to see that a few LGBTQ+ journalists received the special honor in the LGBTQ+ Travel Category!
