Now Open in Scottsdale: Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas

Scottsdale surged into the new year with marquee resort openings, including one from our beloved Kimpton brand.

Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas, previously known as Scottsdale Plaza Resort & Villas, opened as one of the largest resorts in the Kimpton portfolio and the second resort property in Arizona. Set against the backdrop of the Camelback and Mummy mountains in Paradise Valley, just a 10-minute drive from Old Town Scottsdale, Kimpton Miralina spans 40 acres, with 260 revamped guest rooms and casitas that represent the first phase of the resort’s 404-room expansion.

Larger Valley Villas and Residences are to follow in late 2026. A new array of offerings and amenities includes Hecho Libre, the Baja-inspired Mexican restaurant led by James Beard Award- and Michelin Guide-recognized Los Angeles Chef Wes Avila; six swimming pools; event space anchored by a new contemporary pavilion; a state-of-the-art gym; and Spa Miralina.

Inspired by the surrounding desert, the grounds feature living art installations called “Desert Reveries,” blending elements such as cooling mist, garden pathways, sculptural chimes, and flowing canopies to encourage mindfulness throughout the stay.

The resort invites you to “wander shaded courtyards lined with native blooms, and sink into the calm of stylish, desert-inspired spaces that feel both personal and purposeful.”

Plus, the Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas in Scottsdale is pet-friendly, allowing guests to bring their pets, typically with a non-refundable cleaning fee. The resort welcomes pets, sometimes with weight limitations (e.g., 50 pounds) and a fee of approximately $75 per stay.

Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas will represent the brand’s second Arizona property (joining Kimpton Hotel Palomar in downtown Phoenix) and the latest extension of its recent accelerated growth.

Insider tip: The sixth BOA Steakhouse will open at the Scottsdale Waterfront in nearby Old Town during the first half of 2026 by Innovative Dining Group, the award-winning hospitality group also behind Sushi Roku and Katana. This location delivers a celebrity-favorite, modern steakhouse experience, serving signature dry-aged steaks, an elevated raw bar, and an Arizona-first partnership with 6666 (Four Sixes) Ranch, alongside a refined cocktail and award-winning wine program.
