Take Flight at PS Air Bar in Palm Springs

Buckle up, passengers! You’re about to embark on a night flight of fun via PS Air. OK… It’s not really a new airline, but it is a fairly new aviation-themed bar that’s landed in Palm Springs. PS Air is a restaurant, lounge, and bar that welcomes passengers for private parties, casual dinners, or just stop by for a cocktail any day of the week.

Guests can get to the bar through the front entrance of Bouschet Fine Wine & Spirits. Owners of the wine store and the chic experiential bar, Tom Beatty and Dennis Costa have had some experience flying the friendly skies. Beatty retired from the airline biz after working 35 years as a flight attendant, and Costa was also a flight attendant.

“Passengers” may not know it, but the seats and side panels with windows came from an airplane graveyard outside of Mohave, California. And yes, the 737 seats provide just enough legroom for you to sit back and sample the food on the bar menu, such as the first-class nuts, tri-tip tacos, gourmet pizza, vegan mushroom bolognese, and a charcuterie board.

Black Box, Cock Pit, Red Eye, and the Chocolate Cloud are a few signature cocktails served at the bar. We’ve been eyeing that Mile High cocktail made with Papa’s Spirit Vodka, Chase Elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, muddled grapes, Cabernet float, shaken and served up.

If you’re around on Sunday, don’t miss out on Disco Boozy Brunch, which includes a welcome glass of bubbly, your choice of three delicious entrees, served airplane style, and performances by the PS AIR Fly Girls.

The bar has already generated a lot of positive buzz and attracted high-profile patrons, including former First Lady Michelle Obama, who rented out PS Air on a recent girls’ trip to Palm Springs.

Because of the bar’s limited capacity, reservations are recommended and require a credit card to hold your spot. And almost similar to flying nowadays, patrons have to mask up and show proof of vaccination or show their negative COVID-19 test results to step inside “the aircraft.”
