The Italy Gay Summer Party May Be the Perfect Way to End the Season

Queer revelers looking for a fun way to end the summer should consider heading to Gallipoli, Puglia for the Italy Gay Summer Party from September 2 to 4. Italy Gay Travels is hosting the big party. In case you didn’t know Gallipoli is located about a four-hour drive southeast of Naples. The town is situated on the coast of Italy’s Puglia region, which has become a hotspot for travelers and it features baroque architectural gems, enchanting piazzas, rustic trattorias, lively lidos, and secluded beaches. Gallipoli is a coastal town in Puglia on the west coast of the heel of the Italian ‘boot’. The old town center sits on a tiny island connected to the mainland by a 17th-century bridge. The island heart of the town is home to numerous Baroque churches and aristocratic palazzi, a testament to the town’s former wealth as a trading port. A labyrinth of narrow streets all eventually leads to the broader sea-front promenade with its breathtaking views. Through the years the town has become a destination for queer vacationers and has been given the nickname ‘Gay-polli’. In other words, it’s the perfect location for a queer seaside getaway!

Attendees of the Gay Summer Party will begin their weekend on Friday, September 2 with a sunset aperitif overlooking Gallipoli Bay. Organizers have selected an exclusive spot where you can mingle and drink while tasting local appetizers and getting to know your group mates. Afterward, all are invited to stroll through the old town center before heading to the gay bars in the ‘new’ part of town, a 10-minute walk away.

Saturday afternoon is the Gallipoli Gay Boat Party. Join up to 60 local and international men from all over the world for an unforgettable boat party packed with sun and fun! Italy Gay Travels will charter a boat in the port of Gallipoli and drift around its beautiful bay. You can jump on and off at will and swim in its turquoise waters. There will be a welcoming glass of Prosecco followed by white wine or soft drinks and light appetizers. The boat ride will last around 3 hours and feature a DJ. Remember to bring your speedos and sunscreen!

After the boat cruise, you’ll freshen up and get ready for a delectable al fresco dinner like no other, curated by chefs from the local restaurants in Gallipoli. Be sure not to overindulge because later that night will be the official Italy Gay Summer Party, where you will dance the night away to 80’s Italian pop and DJ beats. The location is still being finalized but event organizers will take care of your transportation to and from the event so you can let loose and party as hard as you want to.

On Sunday join in on the fun at Lido Pôr do Sol, on the sandy beaches south of Gallipoli. Deck chairs, sun lounges, and parasols will be available for rent at reduced rates. Starting at 6 pm the music will pick up a notch and the Sunset Beach Party will begin! Shake your booty till the sun goes down while reflecting on the amazing weekend you just had.
